Our Definition of Success in 2020
/This is a time of year when we start to look back and wonder if we've reached our goals or accomplished everything we wanted to.
It's safe to say that none of us woke up on January 1, 2020 setting goals for a year like this.
We've all had to recalibrate and adjust -- some of us more than others.
And it might be easy to wish things were different, to be disappointed that big plans came to a halt or to wonder what could have been.
But for all of the things that didn't go as planned, what is it that you DID accomplish?
What did you learn about
Your business?
Your team members?
Your clients?
Your friends and family?
And most importantly ...what did you learn about YOURSELF? What did you learn about your WHY?
Maybe you were forced to face something you've avoided for years... but instead of feeling down about it, you became determined to face it, dig into it, readjust and recalibrate.
Maybe you realized your business wasn't set up for this kind of change, but it also gave you an opportunity to look harder at your processes and make them better.
Maybe you realized you took face-to-face time with your clients for granted, but learned to make the most out of virtual calls or a classic handwritten note?
Maybe you realized you got lost in the day-to-day logistics of the business that you forgot to incorporate your why into everything you do.
So as you look back on this last year, remember THAT in itself is a success.
Reflection is a success.
Wanting to grow is a success.
Wanting to be better is a success.
YOU are a success... if you choose to believe it.
So, friend, when asked at the Thanksgiving table what you're thankful for, please don't forget to acknowledge THAT.
